- Essential storage keeps users signed in and remembers service preferences.
- The website uses Firebase/Google Analytics, and some Embedr surfaces may use PostHog for product analytics and diagnostics.
- Free and Hobby session recording is enabled by default, shown during onboarding, and can be disabled in app settings.
- Pro session recording is disabled completely.
- Embedr does not use third-party advertising cookies to sell User Content.
Essential Technologies
- Authentication tokens and related browser storage maintain sign-in, account security, and session continuity.
- Local storage and similar device storage remember IDE preferences, consent or telemetry choices, pending checkout state, and application settings.
- Security technologies detect abuse, protect forms and APIs, and maintain service integrity.
- Disabling essential storage may prevent sign-in or make parts of the service unusable.
Analytics
The website uses Firebase/Google Analytics, and the desktop application or other product surfaces may use PostHog. These technologies can process page or screen views, feature interactions, device and browser information, approximate location derived from IP address, performance, errors, and account or pseudonymous identifiers.
- Analytics is used to understand adoption, improve navigation and performance, diagnose failures, and prevent abuse.
- Product analytics is generally retained for up to 12 months unless deleted or de-identified earlier.
- Browser controls, blocking tools, and available Embedr settings may limit these technologies, although some operational telemetry remains necessary for security and billing.
Session Recording
- Session recording is a diagnostic technology rather than an advertising tool.
- It is enabled by default for Free and Hobby. Users see the setting during onboarding and can disable it later in application settings.
- Project code, project names, file paths, terminal output, and prompts are masked or excluded. AI responses may be visible.
- Recordings are retained for 30 days and are not used for AI training.
- Session recording is disabled for Pro.
AI Request Telemetry
AI gateways and model providers may receive server-side request data needed to process AI features. This processing is not necessarily a browser cookie. It is described in the Privacy Policy, including the different logging and training rules for Free, Hobby, and Pro.
Your Choices
- Free and Hobby users may disable session recording in application settings.
- Users may use browser settings to clear or restrict cookies and local storage, although essential functions may stop working.
- Users can contact Embedr to request deletion of analytics data associated with their account where applicable.
- Marketing-email preferences are managed through the one-click unsubscribe link in each marketing email.
